OwlBox is incredibly excited to announce we have been chosen to document construction of the New Central Library in Calgary, Alberta on behalf of CMLC (Calgary Municipal Land Corporation). The project, which aims to be completed in 2018, is a marquee build for the city of Calgary. Located directly east of City Hall in the up-and-coming East Village, the construction will begin by encapsulating the LRT line to allow for vertical development on the site.

OwlBox has perched its camera atop Bow Valley College to get the best vantage point of the encapsulation and construction. The OwlBox time-lapse and monitoring system is unique – features include:

OwlBox is based in Calgary, Alberta and the team is comprised entirely of native Calgarians. For OwlBox this is a monumental undertaking both from a business stand-point, but also a deeply personal one. We grew up visiting libraries, enriching our minds inside them, and to be a part of a once-in-a-lifetime construction project is an honour. We’ve watched Calgary grow from a little big city into a world-class city both from a business perspective, and a culture perspective…the New Central Library will play a integral role in the development of that culture.
